A Trap for a Pioneer. is a band with maybe a greatest website in Belgrade. Unfortunately only in Serbian, but even if you don't speak this superior language, you may find many useful things there (audio, photos...)
37coyu is a brilliant website of certain Ivan Sarajcic, a visual artist.
Horkestar is a choir where Zoka and Luka have met, just like many other people.
Ivana and Misha are prommising duo from Belgrade.
Indie-go is the best alternativne music DJ team in Belgrade, we would play that kind of music ourselves...
Belgrade Yard Sound System is a group of DJ's, they honestly do their job, so we support them.
Kanda Kodza and Nebojsa were our favourite musicians for years (all three of them). They made Toma Bebic, Glass, Solita Kanja, Mediteran, Gnu, and many other great songs. Now they play again, and they have a website, a good one.
We like this band: Foto. (To be more speciffic, I like it, the others don't like it).
Coloured programme is recognized band with lyrics by Kebra.
Ventolin is a band for people who like good old sweaty american sound.
The Masts are the band with warm and friendly atmosphere on their gigs, and the particular Mast called Daniel Kovac has his own website, which is very close to this one in some points.
There is an artist called Rambo, who is mad, and his madness also has it's web form. It is nice to shit.
Other stuff in Belgrade:
Rex is a place with excellent performances, our gigs for example.
Remont is an association with a few good artists. We explicitly recommend Vladimir Nikolic. This is absolutely great stuff.
Yu-portal is a nice web portal to Serbian websites.
Marjan Najdanovic is a distinctive Belgrade painter, photographer and generally speaking an artist.
An excellent web-zine - Helly Cherry.
Comic news is a comprehensive website about comics here (only in Serbian, but some comics are in English). Worth seeing.
There is certainly much more interesting web stuff in Belgrade, but not so interesting for you because of the language. If you speak Serbian, better jump to Serbian page.
First of all, let me say that this website was full of errors when it started. But I wasn't lazy, so I turned it into a clean and neat XHTML and CSS-based website. The most useful resource in this process was Glish website.
Then, the cutest personal website I have seen so far. Also, it is a rich and generous resource of web related stuff - a lovely and inspiring Gina Trapani's scribbling.net. The same person recently became an editor at Lifehacker journal, an excellent web tips resource.
We support the mission of w3c (I even translate their documents into Serbian). Their specifications may look a bit boring at the first sight, but they try to make web better. It would be good if people would listen to them more.
This is an excellent engaged website about your "chances" in Austria - nomilk.at. Take a closer look.
Music:
There is an excellent Belgian radio programme called Psyche Van Het Folk, about psychedelic music, cross-overs and other things that we like. They were so kind to make a review of our album too.
We met one of these guys, they play very amusing fusion of ethno and trip hop - Oi va voi.
An amasing shouting male choir from Helsinki - Huutajat.
The greatest hero of new american rock (in our opinion) has his own homepage, full of good humour like himself: Mike Watt
Strange thing: we didn't know about this band before, and then someone told us that we have something to do with their music and spirit. They started in far-away sixties, and they keep on: Incredible String Band
And these are some of bands from totally different genres which all had some kind of influence on Cinc:
Magicians from Tuxedomoon
Dear souls from Meat Puppets
All time survivers from R.E.M., and The Cure, and of course New Order
If Pixies can play together again, many things are possible as well (e.g. peace in the world...)
They might be and indeed they are Giants. A band very close to our way of thinking.
Equally capable to frighten you and to make you burst of laughter: Tigerlillies
A band that made most wonderful love songs and unique atmosphere: Tindersticks
Two different ways to define beauty: Madredeus and Cocteau Twins. Let it also be known that Simon from Twins wrote us a review for Amorfon.
They went through lot of changes, and they get better and better: Yo La Tengo. I would give anything to see them in Belgrade.
This is certainly the best band ever. I got this link from sister.
Then, a great modern Japanese band: Takeo Toyama Trio
Maybe we are all his disciples: Lou Reed
They made one of best guitar albums ever: Stone Roses
Well, Radiohead...
It is good to see that melody became important in guitar music again, and to see bands like Coldplay, Travis, Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, etc. getting high on charts. That means we are going to get high on charts too.
I also discovered Nouvelle Vague, a French version of us. Two very, very ugly guys and a nice girl.
There are much more bands that we like, but they don't have any sites.
Or I haven't found them.
Or I was too lazy to look for them.
Or they haven't paid me yet.
